About Me
Well every website pretty much needs an “About” page… So i’ll kick it off with a little about myself and then lead into the stuff that may actually interest you all… Thus I begin tale of courage, bravery and more courage… Yes, thats what you do get for living in England’s capital city, it comes with the birth certificate. Anyway:
My name is Warren Pearson and I am currently 18 years old, atleast I am for another month anyway. I live in London, England and I ain’t to thrilled about it, but o well I guess we could all spend hours of our time moaning about something, it may aswell be where I live. I have been into drawing cartoons and comical characters from an early age when I used to either be drawing Power Rangers or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which were just coloured blobs on an A4 page. I grew up being very creative, I was always praised for my drawings in Infant School and even throughout the rest of my education. Along with drawing, I loved to playing video games… Infact I believe my SNES was one of my bestfriends. I knew that games would be a big part of my life when I completed: Legend of Zelda - Link to the Past at the age of 6 or 7. I remember the first time my two passions for gaming and drawing intertwined. I was in school, year 5 or 6 and every week we would have to write a story and make a front cover (We would basically staple sugar paper to the folded over A4 sheets of plain paper and draw on them.) I always used to make my stories about Link and Zelda, but they werent because I lacked creativity, but because I wanted to continue the story of a game I loved. So years pasr, I grew up and then I got into Dragonball. Now this was a big fad in our school, everyone loved it and everyone used to draw it. I remember having drawing contests with a boy in my school all the time, even though we had different styles. I would be bold and colourful, he would be sketched and shaded. My first published drawings were shown when me and Nemphtis of Zetzio (A school friend of mine) decided to publish a magazine about games and we all did a review and I did my first comic strip. To be honest I can’t remember what it was of, but I know Nemph wrote the script for it. The magazine wasn’t allowed to be released in the end , because of two reasons: 1. A friend of ours did a review on Super Smash Bros. which had to much foul language in it. 2. We were using up to much Ink from the printers and we were told either to make black and white or nothing at all… So we said screw that. Towards the end of Secondary School (High school) I dabbled in comics for Clan Edge (Now Zetzio) which were always praised for the art and script, but for some reason I failed to keep an interest in doing it, which was a bad habit of mine, I used to lose concentration very easily. This was pretty much the schooling part of my life story… bored yet… are you asleep… WAKE UP!
So, I failed most of my end of year exams and I had already enrolled at college, in which I needed a few more entry points… At this point I was thinking “I’m screwed” but with some degree of luck they let me onto the course with a unconditional offer and I ended up passing my course and getting one of the highest marks in my class and getting myself a nice BTEC National Diploma. Now as I spoke about earlier, my two passions came into play again around this time. I was working freelance as a graphics designer as I had decided not to go to University, but fate wanted me to go Uni and I happened to be in London the day of my university interview (You have to apply for universities even if you don’t want to… never knew why?) So I went down there and had my interview and my tutor Christian Cooper pretty much got me to go Uni by himself, he is a cool retro gamer who is both laid back, but very helpful when you need advice. At this current moment in time I am in my second seimiester of Uni and I am loving it. I have met some cool people and playing some awesome games… At the moment we are on a real high with Street Fighter: 3rd Strike and at home I’m playing Metal Gear Solid 2 and the PS1 Final Fantasy series!
Doing this comic means the world to me, even if my scripts are tacky and you don’t like my style of art… I don’t care, because I am doing this as a hobby, it is my destiny to be creative and draw things, I am meant to design that is why I was born!
